High-gloss black long puffer, in a single shaft of light.
The challenge
Black gloss on black gives you nothing. The shape of the coat had to stay legible without losing the depth of the black.
The approach
One hard shaft of light in an empty concrete space, with light haze so the beam becomes visible. The coat stands frontal and centred; the cast shadow is nearly as large as the figure. All the detail comes from reflection in the glossy surface.
